MORE MICHIGAN TRAINS -   Presents rail scenes from my neck of the woods including Canadian National's Flint Subdivision, CSX Transportation's Plymouth Subdivision and Norfolk Southern's Lansing Stub.  There is about one hour and fifty minutes of action showing forty five trains (some more than once, and most in their entirety).  With on location stereo sound and no narration.  This DVD covers 2003 from January through mid-May.

Low prices on DVD's...this one's only $12.00 plus shipping and handling costs.  For ordering information, please go here.

DVD number two, titled...EVEN MORE MICHIGAN TRAINS.  A continuation of More Michigan Trains, this presentation is also shot on CN's Flint Sub, CSXT's Plymouth Sub and NS's Lansing line.  With about 115 minutes of rail action showing forty six trains (again, some more than once and most in their entirety).  With on location stereo sound and no narration.

This DVD covers 2003 from mid-May to the end of July.  Low DVD price of $12.00.  Plus shipping and handling costs.

A project that has been on my mind for a number of years has finally reached reality.  From the start of my rail photography I have had the idea of shooting a days worth of trains on the Grand Trunk Western and on the Chesapeake & Ohio.  I never got around to doing it until the summer of 2003.  Of course the Grand Trunk Western is just about gone and the Chesapeake & Ohio is gone, but their tracks are still there and are still in use.  So I have put together a short DVD showing a typical day trackside in Michigan.  I've called it TWO DAYS IN JULY.  The DVD runs about 38 minutes.  The video was shot west of Lansing, MI on the afternoon of Friday, July 18, 2003  along the CSX former C&O main and most of the day on Saturday, July 19, 2003 mostly on the CN main also west of Lansing.  There are 17 full trains shown that run the gamut from passenger trains, to locals, to stack trains and company service, in other words, just what you might find on a typical railfan trip to this area.

Two days of railroading in the summer of 2003.  Low DVD price of $7.00Plus shipping and handling.

The third installment of the More Michigan Trains series - is called STILL MORE MICHIGAN TRAINS - this DVD includes scenes from CN's Flint Sub, CSXT's Plymouth Sub and the NS's Lansing - Jackson line shot in late July, August and early September.  Forty two trains, some in several scenes, present railroading in Michigan in the 21st century.

Yours for the low DVD price of $12.00 plus shipping and handling.

Michigan railroading for the final quarter 2003 is captured on DVD with the final More Michigan Trains series DVD called SOME MORE MICHIGAN TRAINS - more fast paced action from CN's Flint Sub, CSXT's Plymouth Sub and the Norfolk Southern's Jackson to Lansing line.  There are 57 trains in this 2 hour long DVD, most seen in their entirety and some in more than one scene.  Shot in October, November and December with the last set of scenes from New Year's Eve 2003.

Cool stuff for the low Railhead Photography DVD price of $12.00 plus shipping and handling.

We were out there again during the first half of 2004, shooting trains.  The result is called MOSTLY MICHIGAN There is a small difference from the More Michigan Train series, for we were able to go a little further a field this year.  In this video along with my normal central Michigan locations, you'll see scenes from CN's South Bend sub and CSX's Grand Rapids sub.  There is even some footage from Indiana and Ohio.  There are sixty eight different trains included in this 119 minute video.  On location sound with no narration from digital master tape.

This DVD covers 2004 from the first of the year to early June.  Low price of $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

SHORTLINE SWITCHING - Here's a video shorty - this 45 minute (approximate running time) DVD highlights switching moves on shortlines.  The first segment is of the Indiana Northeastern and was shot at Ashley, IN on April 25, 2004.  I was very surprised when I saw movement on the 'main' at Ashley as I drove south on Interstate 69, after all it was a Sunday!  But there they were, and they put on quite a show.  Listen to the sounds that only a pair of 1950's EMD's can make and watch the two man crew bat cars around the small yard.  The other segment is of the Michigan Southern at Sturgis, MI on 7/9/04.  I drove past the engine house in White Pigeon, MI to find no power - did that mean they were out working? - yes indeed.  I caught up with PREX 907 (the Michigan Southern is a Pioneer Railcorp line and at the time this was shot the power did not carry the Michigan Southern name.) running light just west of Sturgis and then watched and shot as they worked a string of cars next to the former Michigan Central depot.  DVD format from digital master tape with on location stereo sound, no narration.

This DVD goes for $7.00 each plus shipping and handling.

MOSTLY MICHIGAN Volume 2 - More 2004 mainline action from Railhead Photography.  Picking up where Mostly Michigan left off, volume 2 shows more of the action in Central Michigan.   Contains scenes recorded from 6/5/04 to 7/25/04.  Come along to watch the action on some of Michigan's busiest mainlines.  In addition we manage to bump into the Thumb's shortline for a quick peek and skim the action in northern Ohio.  Fifty-four trains are seen in this 2 hour (approximate running time) DVD.  Local, stack, passenger, auto rack, coal - all sorts of trains, most in their entirety, some more than once.  DVD format from digital master tape with on location stereo sound, no narration.

This DVD sells for $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

MOSTLY MICHIGAN Volume 3 - The 2004 mainline action from Railhead Photography continues.  The Mostly Michigan series adds volume 3.  More of the action in Central Michigan from 8/1/04 to 10/10/04.  Join us along some of Michigan's busiest mainlines.  You'll also see some more action from Indiana and Ohio with trains on Norfolk Southern and CSX, and an appearance by the Indiana & Ohio.   There are some exciting scenes including a high speed meet and a coal train that creates it's own 'storm' cloud.   Sixty-one trains are seen in this 2 hour (approximate running time) DVD.  Local, stack, auto rack, coal - all sorts of trains, most in their entirety, some more than once.  DVD format from digital master tape with on location stereo sound, no narration.

This DVD also sells for $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

MOSTLY MICHIGAN Volume 4 - The 2004 mainline action from Railhead Photography concludes with the addition of volume 4.  More of the action in Central Michigan from 10/10/04 to 12/31/04. Volume 4 starts right where volume 3 left off - in fact the same day (10/10/04) that volume three ends on and includes CN train 449, the train that ended Vol 3 (with new scenes that were not included in the earlier video).  Come along as I pay another visit to CN's South Bend Sub, catch a northbound on NS's Grand Rapids line and watch the action on CSX.  The out-state treat on this volume includes some more action from Indiana and Ohio with trains on Norfolk Southern and a late afternoon appearance by the Indiana Northeastern.   Join me at trackside for the fall colors and swirling snow as I close out 2004 in style.   There are 57 trains in this 2 hour (approximate running time) DVD.  Local, stack, auto rack, coal - all sorts of trains, most in their entirety, some more than once.  DVD format from digital master tape with on location stereo sound, no narration.

Selling DVDs for $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

STANDING IN A SNOWDRIFT - Another short video from Railhead Photography.  This one concentrates on railroading in Michigan during the winter.  We have snow on the ground, snow on the trains, snow in the air and even snow on the camera lens. You too, can witness the action in the Great Lakes State when the wind howls and the snow falls - but you can be warm and toasty while you watch.  There are 30 trains in this 67 minute video, most shown in their entirety.  Some scenes are included in other Railhead Photography video selections and some will only be included in this title.    DVD format from digital master tape with on location stereo sound, no narration.

Available for $8.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2005 SERIES  Volume 1 -  Oh boy, here it is mid-August and I'm finally announcing the production of the first 2005 video - I have no excuses...I don't even have a flashy name for 2005!  The Trackside 2005 series follows the pattern set with the Mostly Michigan Trains series - a lot of railroading from my home state, with some cool stuff from neighboring states to the south (Ohio and Indiana).  Volume 1 begins on, appropriately enough, 1/1/05.  This DVD includes 49 trains shot from New Years Day to March 26th.  This volume includes high speed freights and putt-putting locals all packed into 112 minutes.  DVD format from digital master tape with on location stereo sound, no narration.

Selling for $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2005 SERIES  Volume 2 -  Risking repeating myself, Oh boy, here it is the first of 2006 and I'm finally announcing the production of the second 2005 video - I have no excuses, actually I do have excuses, but you don't want to hear them, do you?   The Trackside 2005 series follows the pattern set with the Mostly Michigan Trains series - a lot of railroading from my home state, with some cool stuff from neighboring states to the south (Ohio and Indiana).  Volume 2 picks up where volume 1 left off, finishing off March 26th and runs through May 24, 2005.  This volume includes high speed freights and putt-putting locals all packed into 100 minutes (explanation time:  I'm increasing the quality of the DVD content which means decreasing the length of the videos - a balancing act, for sure).  There are 52 trains shown including coal trains, stack trains, general freight trains.  Amtrak makes two appearances, there are some scenes off the local dinner train line showing them running freight and some maintenance of way stuff including a rather interesting look at a ballast cleaner in action.  DVD format from digital master tape with on location stereo sound, no narration.

Since this is a shorter running DVD, I've 'shortened' the price too, selling for $11.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2005 SERIES Volume 3 - The third volume from 2005 is done.  Join me trackside in central lower Michigan, northern Indiana and northern Ohio for action from May 28th through July 23rd, 2005.  Approximately 52 trains of all styles and colors in this 91 minute video (still looking for that happy medium between quality and length).  DVD format from digital master tape.  On location stereo sound with no narration.

Only $11.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2005 SERIES Volume 4 - The forth volume from 2005 is also done.  Joining the other volumes from 2005, this one covers July 30 - October 1, 2005.  See more action from the center part of Michigan along with visits to Indiana and Ohio.  Several of the monster 2 mile long freights on CN's former GTW main turn out to be the feature of this volume.  But don't worry, it's not all CN hauling the whole yard at once.  There are trains of all other shapes and sizes too.  42 trains make up this 91 minute DVD.  On location stereo sound with no narration.

Only $11.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2005 SERIES Volume 5 - The fifth and final volume from 2005, this volume contains video from October 8 - December 31, 2005.  This volume concentrates on the Lansing, MI vicinity although there are only a few scenes shot in  Lansing itself.   There is one trip to the Stryker - Malinta - Hamler, OH area for good measure.  Probably the most interesting - and strange set of scenes was shot at Sunfield, Mulliken and Grand Ledge, MI on 10/22/05, where a CSX crew plays swap the power over a nearly two hour period.  I'm still scratching my head over this one.  There is mostly mainline Michigan freight but Amtrak, TSBY, IORY, CHS and lease units make for some variety.  44 trains in ninety minutes with a Railhead 'train sheet' to sort things out with.  On location stereo sound with no narration.

Only $11.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2005 SERIES EXTRA - TO NORTH PLATTE AND BACK - This hour long DVD was shot on a quickie vacation that I took in June of 2005.  I drove out to North Platte, Nebraska - spent the night and then headed home.  See the heavy action on the UP main between Gibbon and N. Platte and then between N. Platte and California Junction.  Also watch Amtrak, BNSF, IC, ICE and some surprises too (is that really a GTW GP-38-2 in Iowa???).  47 visible trains in 78 minutes, a lot more if you count the trains on the far track!  On location stereo sound with no narration.

This one's $8.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2006 SERIES  Volume 1 - Carrying on the name from 2005, Railhead Photography is proud to announce the 2006 series of videos.  Forty-six trains are included in the first volume.  From January 8, 2006 to April 15, 2006 - ride along as I cruise for trains in Michigan and northern Ohio.  Class one power abounds with both home road stuff, leasers and visitors from the west.   Not much in the way of shortline or regional power but you do get a quick switching peek at new Michigan line Marquette Rail in the form of NREX GP-50 and an odd mix on IORY.  There is quite a bit of northern Ohio included.  With some late winter snow too.  Runs 102 minutes with a Railhead 'train sheet'.  On location stereo sound with no narration.

Only $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2006 SERIES  Volume 2 - Moving into the summer months with Railhead Photography is volume 2 of the 2006 Trackside Series.  This volume takes up right where volume one leaves off, on April 15, 2006.  Watch slightly more than fifty trains through late spring and mid summer on CN, CSXT and NS mains.  There are, of course, the usual twenty-first century mix of power from home roads and the run-through - power swapping - who cares whose engine it is railroading that is modern day US practice.  For the shortline/regional fiend Central Michigan and IORY  fill the bill.  You'll see the usual lower Michigan stuff along with more from northwestern Ohio and northeastern Indiana.  This DVD runs about one hour forty minutes.  From digital master video with on location stereo sound.  There is no narration.

Only $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2006 SERIES  Volume 3 - Completing the summer months and into fall is volume 3 of the 2006 Trackside Series.  This volume covers July 15 through October 7, 2006.  Watch forty five trains on CN, CSXT and NS mains.  There are, of course, the usual twenty-first century mix of power from home roads and the run-through - power swapping - who cares whose engine it is railroading that is modern day US practice.  Unfortunately I didn't run into any shortline or regional operations during this period of time but there is some Amtrak on this DVD.  You'll see the usual lower Michigan stuff.  This DVD runs 113 minutes.  From digital master video with on location stereo sound.  There is no narration.

Only $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2006 SERIES  Volume 4 - Here's the rest of 2006.  This selection shows railroading as I saw it from October 7th to December 30th.  This video was shot mostly on CN's main through central Michigan, from Marcellus in the west to Durand in the east with all the varied power that is common these days on CN.   There is a tiny bit of CSX in Michigan, along with NS, some Amtrak, Christmas on the TSBY with PM 1225 and a chase unit.  The video closes with a trip to Hamler and Bryan, Ohio on 12/30.  Forty seven trains in this 96 minute video.  From digital master video with on location stereo sound.  There is no narration.

Only $11.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2007 SERIES  Volume 1 - More railroading from Railhead Photography.  I was back trackside (where else would I be) again in 2007.  Visiting my favorite spots and some new places too.  Come on along and watch more Mid-Michigan railroading.  Starting with an overpowered eastbound freight and the westbound local on CSX, you'll then see NS's northbound into Lansing - a look at CSX/CP train 500 (this is the last numbered CP overhead train that is still running on CSX after the rest moved south to NS trackage) - a pair of stacks in Indiana - the varied power pools on CN and a mix from Indiana again.  This video has a couple rough spots as I get used to a new video camera (after dropping the old one for the third time) but all in all has some interesting trains.  This one runs 91 minutes and includes 34 trains, most in their entirety and some more than once.  Covers January 2 to March 12, 2007.  This one is also from digital master video with on location stereo sound.  There is no narration.

Also only $11.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2007 SERIES  Volume 2 - More railroading from Railhead Photography.  You see at least 40 trains in this 106 minute video, most in their entirety and some more than once.  Watch the eastern big three move freight in long and short trains, quite a bit of Amtrak on this video also.  See trains from central lower Michigan, northwestern Ohio and northeastern Indiana.   See home road power, lease units and run-through units on everything from solid rack and stacks, coal trains and FAK - freight, all kinds.  This video is also from digital master video with on location stereo sound.  Follow the action from March 17 to May 6, 2007 on the enclosed Railhead 'train sheet' while you watch the action on your TV.  There is no narration.

This one is only $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2007 SERIES  Volume 3 -  Can I say it again?  More railroading from Railhead Photography?!?!  Well, that's what volume 3 is all about.  Back trackside in central lower Michigan with one trip each to Indiana and Ohio.   Watch a bunch of trains on CN's Flint Subdivision.  Get a glimpse at NS's former CR main at Wawaka, IN including some CN stuff.  Sample what Hamler, OH has to offer (sorry no CN there).  And for a change of pace check out five different Amtrak runs.  Over 40 trains in this 90+ minute DVD.  The video is from digital master tapes with on location stereo sound, still no narration.  This one covers 2007 from 5/13 to 7/1.

This one costs $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2007 SERIES  Volume 4 - Okay, I won't say more railroading from Railhead Photography to introduce volume 4 of The Trackside 2007 Series which covers the summer days from 7/4 to 8/11/2007.  See locomotives from CSXT, CN, IC, UP, GTW, BNSF, Amtrak, WC and CP hauling freight and passengers across Michigan and northern Indiana.  I've discovered some new vantage points as well as spent a bunch of time near CN's new yard west of Lansing, MI watching pick-ups and set-outs.  I think you'll like this one too.  Thirty-five + trains in about 90 minutes from digital master tapes with on location stereo sound, still no narration.

Get your copy of this one for $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2007 SERIES  Volume 5 - The coverage of Michigan railroading continues with this volume of the Trackside Series for 2007.   This one finishes the traffic I saw on 8/11 which was a busy day on CN's Flint Subdivision.  And continues on until Mid-September (the 15th to be exact).  Most of the footage comes from CN in the center of Michigan.  There is one train on CSX's Plymouth Sub and a set of eight scenes shot in northeastern Indiana about evenly split between the CSX and NS lines.  There are forty-two trains in this 103 minute video.  Edited from digital master tapes with on location stereo sound and no narration.

Get this one for $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2007 SERIES  Volume 6 - The last of the 2007 Trackside Series shows footage from 9/22 to 12/16/07.   As with the 2007 Volume 5 this one was also mostly shot on CN's Flint Sub in the area east of Battle Creek and west of Durand.  For a change of pace there is a CSX freight in Lansing, two run-bys from PM 1225 - the first south of Grayling, the second north of Henderson, and the GLC chase unit from the Henderson 1225 trip.  There are forty trains in the 104 minute video.   Edited from digital master tapes with on location stereo sound and no narration.

This one is also $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TWENTY-FIRST CENTURY TRUNK - I searched through existing master video to produce this short look at what's left of the Grand Trunk Western Railroad.  To be sure, the GTW's Port Huron, MI to Chicago, IL right-of-way is still pretty much as it was when trains were powered by multi-unit blue and orange GP-38ac and SD-40 power sets.  True, a lot more of it is now single track, and you won't see blue locomotives leading many trains, but the GT noodle is still out there, as this video shows.  To qualify for inclusion, each train has Grand Trunk reporting marks on the lead (and sometimes, only) unit.  Lots of local trains and yard jobs fill this 58 minute DVD.  On location stereo sound from digital master tapes.  No narration.  Note, most of the scenes in this DVD are included in other Railhead Photography DVD selections.

Get your copy for only $8.00 each plus shipping and handling costs.

Nice Stuff - Like the DVD titled Twenty-First Century Trunk, Nice Stuff concentrates on one railroad.  Can you guess which one...let's see Nice Stuff...um...NS...um...Norfolk Southern???...yes indeed.  This DVD includes 49 trains lead by NS lettered locomotives, well, since I wasn't paying real close attention, there is one train that does not have a NS leader.  Showing low speed locals and high speed freights this DVD will give the viewer a look at some of the NS lines in central Michigan, northern Ohio and northern Indiana.  This one includes footage from January 2005 to September 2007.  The DVD runs approximately 90 minutes.   On location stereo sound from digital master tapes.  No narration.  Note, most of the scenes in this DVD are included in other Railhead Photography DVD selections.

Add this one to your collection for only $12.00 each plus shipping and handling costs.

TRACKSIDE 2008 SERIES  Volume 1 - The first of the 2008 Trackside Series shows footage from 1/19 to 3/23/08.   This one was also mostly shot on CN's Flint Sub in the area east of Battle Creek and west of Durand.  For a change of pace there is a set of three trains shot on CSX in Hamler, OH.  And a little CSX here in my home town of Lansing.  There are thirty six trains in the 98 minute video.   Edited from digital master tapes with on location stereo sound and no narration.

This one is also $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

TRACKSIDE 2008 SERIES  Volume 2 - More of the 2008 Trackside Series is available.  Volume two shows footage from  3/29 to 6/1/08.   This one has CN's Flint Sub in the area east of Battle Creek and west of Durand.  But for a change about a third of the video was shot in northern Ohio with a little northern Indiana too.  The 'goodies' in this video include a British Columbia GE unit, a neat 'lake' shot at Vicksburg, MI and a couple of 'twofers' where there are two trains at once.  There are about fifty trains in this 95 minute video.   Edited from digital master tapes with on location stereo sound and no narration.

Only $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

Trackside 2008 Series  Volume 3 - Even more of the 2008 Trackside Series is now ready.  Volume three includes video shot between 6/2 and 7/13/08.  More class one action from Michigan, Indiana and Ohio with CN, CSX and NS mainline goodies.  Along with the big guys there is a peek at Amtrak, the Little River Railroad, Indiana & Ohio and a M/W lash-up moving under it's own power on, of all dates 7/4/08.  This video contains 45 trains and runs about 86 minutes.  As usual, it's edited from digital master tapes with on location stereo sound, there is no narration.

This one's $11.00 each plus shipping and handling.

Trackside 2008 Series  Volume 4 - Another 2008 Trackside Series DVD is ready.  Volume four was  shot between 7/26 and 8/23/08.  This group of scenes shows mostly class one action from Michigan, and a couple trips to Indiana and Ohio with CN, CSX and NS mainline goodies.  Along with the big guys there is a little Amtrak with the highlight being an eastbound train meeting a series of westbound trains at Marcellus, MI.  This particular video contains 48 trains and runs a bit over 90 minutes.  As usual, it's edited from digital master tapes with on location stereo sound, there is no narration.

This one's $11.00 each plus shipping and handling.

Trackside 2008 Series  Volume 5 - Volume five was shot between 8/24 and 10/12/08.  The DVD starts with a trip to Edgarton, OH where a pair of NS trains with mixed power was shot.  Apparently traffic was down on the NS that day as the next two scenes were shot just 25 or so miles from home.  There is plenty of class one action on CN and CSXT in Michigan, NS and CSXT in Indiana and NS and CSXT in Ohio.  UP, IC, GTW, HLCX and BNSF units also appear along with a MMA (ex-CN) SD and a newly painted pair of Utah Southern units filling in the shortline/regional slot.  To appease the passenger fan there are two Amtrak trains too.  All this and maybe more...  This DVD is edited from digital master tapes with on location stereo sound, there is no narration.  Runs 87 minutes and shows 41 trains.

This one is $11.00 each plus shipping and handling costs.

Trackside 2008 Series  Volume 6 - Volume six covers 10/19 through 12/21/08.  Shot entirely in Michigan with the majority of the scenes shot on CN's Flint Subdivision.  Most trains are led by CN units.  There are exceptions of course, you'll see an Amtrak led train, CN trains with GTW, GATX and IC units trailing, a CSX train, Pere Marquette 1225 on two very different but very cold days (along with the GLC 'chase' unit on one of those days) and maybe the oddest CN train of the bunch - led by a Ferromex GE!  This DVD runs about 82 minutes and shows 24 trains.  All from digital master tapes with on location stereo sound with no narration.

This one can be yours for $8.00 each plus shipping and handling costs.

Trackside 2009 Series  Volume 1 - Volume one starts on 1/1/09 and ends on 3/13/09.  Oddly enough the first moving train I found in 2009 was an industrial 'geep' moving covered hoppers at Maple Grove, OH.  I include three trips to Indiana/Ohio where I caught 9 CSX, 3 NS and 1 CEFR train as well as 2 BNSF powered trains (one each on CSX and NS tracks) and a CSX train with UP/CSX power.  Shortlines are represented by a northbound HESR freight.  The rest of the show is on CN's Flint Sub.  This video includes 33 trains and runs about 87 minutes.  From digital master tape with on location stereo sound with no narration.

This one can be yours for $12.00 each plus shipping and handling costs.

Trackside 2009 Series  Volume 2 -  Volume two begins on 3/15 and ends on 5/10/09.  First off is Amtrak (the first of three Amtrak scenes in this volume), then CN some with IC and BNSF units trailing.  Then the shortline segment is filled by GMTX and GLC on a short northbound freight that was shot near Vernon, MI.  Next is a trip to Ohio for NS and CSX action along with a BNSF led train on CSX.  Back to Michigan for CN, AMT, CSX and GTW.  In this group there is also a BCR and an IC unit for good measure.  We head down to Indiana where on four trains you'll see NS, CSX, BNSF and CP power - four trains - four locomotive owners.  This video runs about 90 minutes and includes 35 trains.  From digital master tape with on location stereo sound with no narration.

Just $12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

Trackside 2009 Series  Volume 3 - Volume three covers 5/19 to 6/27/09.  We start this DVD with a short NS freight in Lansing.  We then head to Indiana for a pair of NS trains and a CP train at Corunna and a CSX 'steel' train south of Butler.  Next it's off to Ohio for some NS and CSX stuff along with a UP powered train.   We wander around Michigan for some CN, Amtrak, CSX and HESR trains.  Back to Indiana for NS, CP and CSX trains.  With one of the NS trains tugging a new UP low emissions unit.  We pick up a couple of Michigan trains - a CN/BCR lash-up and a CN local with GTW power up front.  Finally back to Ohio where we'll see two NS, two CSX and a BNSF powered train.  Thirty six trains in 90 minutes from digital master tapes with on location stereo sound.  No narration.

Yours for $12.00 plus shipping and handling.

Trackside 2009 Series  Volume 4 - Volume four was shot from 6/28 to 8/1/09.  The majority of the footage in this DVD was shot in Michigan on CN between Schoolcraft (South Bend Sub) and Durand (Flint Sub).  That doesn't mean that there is nothing but CN units in these segments - there are a lot of CN power, but there is also GTW, Amtrak, BNSF, KCS and BCR.  I did get out north of Owosso, MI during Steam Fest 2009and shot SP 4449 and NKP 765 as well as the SP/Amtrak westbound return of 4449 west of Lansing, MI.  There are a couple other regular Amtrak trains shown as well as HESR's daily (weekday) job into Durand, MI.  We end up down in Ohio for CSX and NS and, if I remember correctly, one of the UP run-thru Armour® 'meat trains'.  Cool stuff showing 41 trains in 96 minutes all from digital master tape with on location stereo sound - no narration.

Only $12.00 plus applicable shipping and handling costs.

Trackside 2009 Series  Volume 5 - Volume five was shot from 8/2 to 8/25/09.  The majority of the footage in this DVD was also shot in Michigan on CN between Chamberlain (a tiny town west of Schoolcraft on the South Bend Sub) and Durand (Flint Sub).  Mostly CN this time with a few exceptions:  The exceptions to the CN 'rule' being three Amtrak scenes - all train 365, the morning westbound  Bluewater, two CN trains with other owner units trailing - one IC and one BCR.   A single trip outside of Michigan that netted three NS trains near Delta, two CSXT trains near Defiance and three more CSXT trains near Hicksville.  And the last exception an NS local in Lansing, MI.  Despite the CN preponderance this is still an interesting collection of 32 trains.  Runs about 86 minutes, all from digital master tape with on location stereo sound - no narration.

Only $12.00 plus applicable shipping and handling costs.

Trackside 2009 Series  Volume 6 - Volume six was shot from 9/1 to 10/11/09.  This DVD starts out with a six train day here in Michigan.  Five of them along the CN main at Morrice, Duffield and Shaftsburg.  The sixth train was on CN/HESR tracks at Durand.  A mix of power from CN - GTW - CM - HESR is seen heading these trains up.  After a single CN train on the South Bend Sub it's off to Indiana and Ohio for CSXT action at St Joe, IN and Hicksville, OH and NS action at Byron and Melbern, OH - two BNSF and a CEFX unit add a little variation in color - all together twelve trains on this trip.  The next few sets of scenes are two to four train days on CN and CSXT lines in Michigan - the locations include Durand, Bancroft, Williamston, Morrice etc.  With power from CN, GTW, IC and BNSF with CN predominating and a CSXT powered coal train on the CN main at Imlay City.  For you truck fans, there is a M/W equipment move powered by a Kenworth hi-rail style.  These are followed by a three train set shot at Corunna, IN on the NS with one BNSF powered train and the other two NS black.  Lastly you'll see a pair of CN trains at Durand and a CSXT daily 326 at Lansing.  All in all 41 trains - most in their entirety at least one more than once.  Running time about 86 minutes, all from digital master tape with on location stereo sound.  No narration.

Like most Railhead Photography DVD's, this one is $12.00 plus shipping and handling.

Trackside 2009 Series  Volume 7 - Volume seven was shot from 10/18 to 12/31/09.  The title of this DVD should probably be Mostly Indiana and Ohio - out of the 54 trains shown in this 96 minute DVD only 18 were shot in Michigan.  We start with a very late Amtrak 365 as we head south to the action on CSXT between Auburn, IN and Mark Center, OH.  This stretch of track serves up 4 trains on 10/18 and another 3 trains on 11/1.  It's back to Ohio for NS, CSXT, UP and BNSF powered trains.  We stay in Michigan for a pair of CN's and the HESR/CM weekday job.  Down to Indiana for NS action on the former CR east west line and some new locations on the former CR Warsaw/Elkhart line.  Throw in a pair of CP trains and a pair of CSXT trains for good measure.  Next is the Santa Express on the GLC - sorry no 1225 steam engine this time and a CN freight east of Durand.  More NS and CSXT action at St Joe, IN and east in Ohio, then up to the ex-CR NS main at Archbold and Pettisville, OH.  We'll round out 2009 with CN trains (three with BCR trailing units), a UP power move, some shortline stuff on HESR/CM, and GLC, the CN local from Flint to Durand powered by GTW colored power and a pair of CSXT trains - one mainline freight and one local shuffling cars.  A pretty good way to finish the 2009 series of videos.  Again, from digital master tape with on location stereo sound with no narration.

Fork over $12.00 plus shipping and handling for this one too.

Early Railhead Photography VHS mastered video on DVD!

I've had the VHS version of three videos copied to DVD.  These DVD's have the pops and zizzes that the VHS version has. The video starts with an industrial strength one choice menu but hey, I'm trying to keep up with technology.  Most importantly, it plays, or at least it plays on the two different DVD players that I have and three different players that a friend has.  I plan to convert more of the VHS tapes to DVD as money and time allow.

GREAT LAKES RAIL vol 2 - This video was shot in south-central lower Michigan, northwestern Ohio in 1996. About 2 hours long. Features full trains and head-end only edits from about 58 trains. With GTW, CN, CP, CR, NS, and other companies appearing. Comes with a Railhead 'Train Sheet' that provides location and other information about the scene. Now in DVD format, on location mono sound, no narration.

$12.00 each plus shipping and handling.

RANDOM SHOOTING - Railhead Photography suffered some equipment problems during the 1997 to 1999 time span and a large amount of the video shot during that time was un-usable. I was able to make a 2 hour video using random segments of tape - and that's where the name 'Random Shooting' came from. There are 58 trains shown in this video, mostly from the Lansing - Battle Creek - Grand Rapids part of Michigan. There are a few scenes from northwestern Ohio and northeastern Indiana too. With the mix of power that this part of the country can present. This tape has location information and comments via a screen crawl with on location double track mono sound, no narration.

$12.00 each plus shipping and handling.
