SANTA EXPRESS - 2010 VERSION
Here is the southbound Santa Express morning run on 12/5/10. While fairly cold, this is not a very winter like scene. The Santa Express is operated on the Great Lakes Central Owosso - Chesaning (Michigan) branch and is usually powered by the Michigan Steam Institute's ex-Pere Marquette 1225. Not so for the 2010 season as 1225 was not available. There is another GLC GP-35 on the other end of this train. This digital shot was made a couple of miles south of Chesaning by RE Holmes.
