This ballast hopper is, I believe, a former ore car converted to ballast service and is shown westbound near Haslett, MI on 3/9/10 in a CN train.  Note what I think is a solar panel protected by wire in the upper left corner of the shot.  I wish this car (or at least the car style) was available in N scale.  I'd want a fleet of them.
